Largest protest sign assembled-
world record set by ARTL
DENVER, CO, USA -- Activists from American
RTL Action in Denver have unfurled a 530-foot tall and 666-foot
wide message spelling out the words "Destroys
uNborn Children"
and setting the world record for the Largest protest
sign assembled.
Photo: The protest sign weighs more than
2,700 pounds and was sewed together with more than four miles
of seams connecting 2,400 sheets and backpacked onto location
and unfurled by 44 letter carriers with spotters a mile away
to ensure proper letter placement. / Photo courtesy

The display is on a grassy knoll on
public property on a Denver mountain overlooking the Democrat
National Convention. Sponsored byAmerican
Right to Life Action (ARTL),
the message initially appeared with 3 enormous 160-foot tall,
bright yellow letters, D-N-C, stacked on top of each other.
After those letters is coming the actual
full message of the sign with letters completing the text:

They
initially spelled out the letters DNC, referring to
the Democratic National Committee, in yellow sheet and then
used white sheets to complete the three words pointing to
its pro-abortion position ratified yesterday in its platform.
The sheets were placed on the side of a
large hill that is part of the Rock Mountains west of Denver
and, because of its massive size, can be seen from almost
anywhere in Denver, which is hosing the Democratic convention.
A scientist who works with satellite imagery helped determine
the size of the sign and size of letters and location. To
give you an idea how big those letters are, one letter takes
up the space of a junior high school gym.
ARTL
has commited to removing the DNC Sheets Of Shame and leaving
the area cleaner than it had been.
"The tiniest boys and girls should be loved
and protected," said ARTL president Steve Curtis in a press
statement. "But as nominating Barak Obama emphasizes, the
DNC even supports killing kids in the womb old enough to know
their mother's voice, sleep and dream, suck their thumbs,
and play with their toes."
