Long Clawson, Leicestershire, England -- Long Clawson Dairy staff have created a wedge of blue Stilton which weighed in 110.5kg (244lbs) for the firm's centenary celebrations - setting the new world record for the Largest slice of cheese, according to World Record Academy (www.worldrecordacademy.com).

The Guinness world record for the largest soft cheese was made by Edelweiss Kaesewerk, Kempten, Germany weighing 180 kg (396.8 lb).
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest cheese pie weighed 862 kg (1,900 lbs 6 oz) and was made by the students of Educational Group AKMI in Thessalonica, Greece.
The World's Largest Slice of Cheese was cut from a 145kg block, which was made using 824 litres of full fat pasteurised cow's milk, 1.8kg of salt, 190ml of vegetarian rennel (coagulant) and 0.0003g of dairy cultures.
Martin Taylor, the dairy's chief executive, said it was a difficult challenge but he was surprised by the quality of the cheese created.
In order to create the slice the dairy had to create the world's largest stilton, at just over 140kg (309lbs).
"It's the first time we've done it. It wasn't easy," said Mr Taylor.
The cheese was matured for about 12 weeks, four weeks longer than a normal-sized Stilton.
Cheesemakers had to make special cheese cutters to slice the Stilton and use a pallet scale to weigh it.
Master Cheesemaker Ady Christian, the dairy's assistant production manager, said it took 12 weeks to make the cheese.
"We were quite surprised that the quality is absolutely superb, if anything slightly better than your average," said the cheesemaker.
The Borough of Melton's mayor and a local police inspector were the official witnesses of the world record attempt.
Long Clawson Primary School pupils were also invited along to witness the world record attempt and were amazed by the super-sized slab of Stilton.
The giant cheese is to be shared out among the company's employees and their families.
Long Clawson Dairy was formed when 12 farmers from the Vale of Belvoir, Leicestershire formed a co-operative to produce Stilton cheese in the village of Long Clawson.
The company prospered and today, 56 producing members from 34 farms, all from within the Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire area supply 31 million litres of milk per annum.
The company is a traditional company well known for its quality and innovation.
