Smallest food truck: The Verts Kebap trailer sets world record

AUSTIN, TX, USA --The Verts Kebap restaurant in Austin, a "Berlin-inspired kebap" restaurant is using a modified Smart car to peddle shaved-meat sandwiches around the city; the Verts Kebap trailer -- complete with refrigeration units, food heaters and sinks -- is retrofitted into the back of a tiny little Smart Car , setting the world record for the Smallest food truck, according to World Record Academy (www.worldrecordacademy.com).

The Guinness world record for the largest mining truck body by volume is the Westech T282C Flow Control Body which has a volume of 470.4 cubic metres at a coal density of 0.86 tons/m3. It was manufactured by WESTECH (USA) and was presented and measured at the North Antelope Rochelle Mine, Wyoming, USA.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest doner kebab weighed 413 kg (910.5 lb) and was made by the Maroosh Lebanese Café at the Applause Festival, Albury, New South Wales, Australia.

The Verts Kebap trailer - complete with refrigeration units, food heaters and sinks - is retrofitted into the back of a tiny little Smart Car. It's now on the streets of Austin, at the University of Texas, and the gimmick is already getting it a lot of hype.

The Smart seems to make some sense for Verts, the restaurant that owns it, because once the meat's cut from the spit, it only lasts for two-to-three hours.

There's a steam warmer, fridge, and fresh-water supply. All told, it's enough to run out with supplies for 50 sandwiches and then return to the home base.
