Most people playing dominoes: Cayman Islands students set world record
GEORGETOWN, Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands -- A total of 588 John Gray High School students played  dominoes on the school campus - setting the new world record for most people playing dominoes simultaneously.

The previous Guinness world record was 549, set in Venezuela two years ago.
Guinness World Records also recognized the largest domino mosaic, which was 500 m² (5,382 ft²) and consisted of 1,011,732 dominoes on set of Domino Day 2008 in Leeuwarden, Netherlands.
Maths teacher Ted Todd was the organizer of this fun attempt to break the record for the most number of people playing dominos in the same place at the same time and said he got the idea after watching some students play dominoes on the school campus.
Edward 'Ted' Todd said: "This was a unique achievement for the students who stepped up to the plate and fulfilled a genuine team work achievement.
"Education is not only about academic results, but is also about building the student as a whole person fully equipped to take on the challenges of modern day society.
"One of the challenges is working together as a team and the integration of social skills amongst peers. In this respect, I feel that we have achieved more than just a record, we have achieved a sense of togetherness amongst the students and community at John Gray.
"More than anything, we achieved great teamwork. The students, teachers and business community all worked together to make it happen," said Todd.
Todd is very happy for the students who broke the record because the idea was always that they should get the praise and reward while having achieved something unique.
"Everyone in the school came together as a community to achieve something special and we did; everyone was very excited by it." He feels that it should become a practice for other schools to break records as well to encourage and promote team building.
