set in New York
NEW YORK CITY, NY, USA -- 318 people in 2
3/4 inch heels, running in the rain in Manhattan, made their
way along the 80 meters course during the Stilettos Run-setting

80 meters run and nationwide walks are part of an effort
to raise public awareness of child trafficking.
The previous
world record for the Most people running in stilettos
was set in Australia by 265 competitors running in
a "Stiletto Sprint." The Rules:
The Run must take place on a path that is measured
exactly 80m or 263 feet
- All participants must wear high heeled shoes.
- The shoe or "stiletto" must be at least
7 centimeters or 2.75 inches high and no more than 1.5 centimeters
or 1/2 inches wide at the tip.
- Platform shoes are not permitted.
- The record is open to participants
of both sexes.
- Runners must be 18 years of age
or older to participate.
