The Guinness world record for the largest resistance band demonstration / class is 270 and was achieved by Sheraton Hotels & Resorts and Core Performance (Both USA) in New York, New York, USA.

Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest yoga class; it involved 29,973 students from 362 schools who performed a sequence of yogic kriyas called Suryanamaskar (Salute to the Sun) simultaneously for 18 minutes, led by Vivekanand Kendra (India), at Jiwaji University, Gwalior, India.

"This is really significant on two levels," said Area Executive & General Manager Maria Deacon, who helped lead the effort. "First is the planning and execution that enabled the team to create this world record. And second is the broader commitment to promote the overall value of good fitness."

This anticipated world-record activity was part of the companywide HealthAhead celebration that took place at numerous GE locations around the globe throughout the week.
