near and far lined the borough’s streets to watch the marching
bands, pipe and drum corps, floats, marching firefighters,
police vehicles and rescue squad trucks pass by.
Fire Chief Dean Parsons’ efforts
to establish a new World Record category culminated with a
massive turnout of firetrucks in a seemingly endless display
of pumpers, ladder trucks and assorted other fire vehicles.

A Slate Belt tradition that includes both
Bangor Area and Pen Argyl Area School District marching bands
and a slew of candy-throwing politicians, it's the one time
sleepy Pen Argyl gets a taste of the crowds enjoyed by Bethlehem's
Musikfest or the Great Allentown Fair.
