Most people in wedding dresses: Northern Ireland brides smash Guinness world record (VIDEO)
DERRY, Northern Ireland, UK -- Around 750 women dressed in their full bridal wear gathered to cross the Peace Bridge in Derry, to raise money for a hospice, smashing the Guinness world record for the Most people in wedding dresses, according to the World Record Academy: www.worldrecordacademy.com/.

The Guinness world record for the fastest marathon in a wedding dress was 4 hr 11 min 01 sec by Eleanor Franks (UK) at the 2011 Virgin London Marathon in London, UK.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the Longest marriage, set by Herbert Fisher (USA, b. 10 June 1905) and Zelmyra Fisher (USA, b. 10 December 1907), who were married on May 13, 1924 in North Carolina, USA. They had been married 86 years, 9 months, and 16 days as of 27 February 2011.
The successful world-record bid took place on Londonderry's Peace Bridge. The "Brides Across The Bridge" saw ladies put on their wedding gowns for a second time in aid of the Foyle Hospice.
Rachel Bruce from the Foyle Hospice, for which the event was organised, said brides had travelled from all over England and the Republic to take part.
She said: 'We've got brides coming from all over. We have girls coming from England - parts of Liverpool, London and Manchester - and up from Dublin.
'We have brides renting, hiring dresses, making up their own dresses, doing all sorts,' UTV reported.
The event was organised by a local woman in memory of a man helped by Foyle Hospice. Each bride was asked to donate £10 to take part.
Foyle Hospice has a dedicated group of Specialist Medical and Nursing Teams who provide palliative care to those suffering with a terminal illness such as Cancer, Multiple Sclerosis, COPD, Heart Failure and Parkinson's.
