Southgate, MI, USA -- On Valentine's Day, Steve Mallie, the owner of Mallie's Sports Grill & Bar, attempted to shatter the record for the world's largest delivery pizza; he made a a 72 inch pie, and delivered it to the Southgate Fire Department, thus
setting the new world record for the Largest pizza commercially available, according to the World Record Academy. The GUINNESS WORLD RECORD (TM) for the largest pizza commercially available is 1 m 37 cm (4 ft 6 in) by 1 m 37 cm (4 ft 6 in) and is sold at the Big Mama''s and Papa''s Pizzeria, Los angeles, California.
GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS (TM) also recognized the world record for the largest dessert pizza; it has a total surface area of 20.03 m² (215.60 ft²) and was prepared by Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar (Australia) at the Gold Coast Convention & Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia, on 25 September 2016. The pizza, once assembled and on the pan is up to 300lbs.
Mallie said the pizza is now available on his restaurant's menu for a starting price of $300, with an additional $50 for extra cheese or meat toppings and $35 for vegetable toppings. (enlarge photo)
He said delivery of the massive pizza is free within a 5-mile radius.
