The Guinness World Records' record for the fastest 100 meters egg and spoon race is 19.39 seconds, set by Ashrita Furman, (USA) at St John's University track in Queens, New York, USA, on 24 February 2011.
Guinness World Records also recognized the world record for the largest egg and spoon race involved 1,445 participants and was achieved by Morecambe Community High School (UK) in Morecambe, Lancashire, UK.
Sally Pearson easily broke the previous Guinness World Records' record of 19.39 seconds set by New Yorker Ashrita Furman.
She conquered a green path laid outside a Holiday Inn in downtown Sydney, where traffic had to be stopped, in 16.59 seconds.
"I'm pretty stoked to take it," Pearson said, according to the Daily Telegraph.
"I never thought my first world record would be in the egg and spoon." "But I was really happy to give it a crack."

The concept was inspired by Holiday Inn's popular chefs, and the fact that kids always eat and stay free. Families who have their photo taken with the giant boiled egg and share it with their social media networks could win a family holiday at Holiday Inn Resort Phuket. (enlarge photo)
To add to the celebrations, Holiday Inn donated 10,000 to her charity of choice, Queensland's Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
